CHILDLINE

Since 2008, YUVA Urban Initiatives has partnered with CHILDLINE, a 24-hour toll-free emergency call service for children in distress across the country. The project is funded by CHILDLINE India Foundation, which functions as a nodal agency under the Union Ministry of Women and Child Development.

We respond to emergency calls to offer different kinds of support, such as rescuing children from difficult circumstances, providing assistance for medical and shelter needs, offering counselling, referral support, and so on.

Our three contact centres are the Mumbai City CHILDLINE, Dadar Railway CHILDLINE and Navi Mumbai CHILDLINE.

Balwadis

Balwadis are pre-schools, often setup within urban informal settlements, that help stimulate the cognitive, physical and psychological growth of 0-6 year olds. This early childcare centre offers children a space for play and expression, along with basic nutritional support, and allow parents to avail of a safe space for their children as they work.
